GRAY COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES SALE OF WAREHOUSE OPERATION

 ALBANY, Ga., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Gray Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM) of Albany announced today the sale of its warehouse operation to Gray Distribution Services, Inc., a company owned by Phillip R. Greene.
 The warehouse operation being sold consists of two warehouses, one in Albany and one in Ashburn, Ga., which house agricultural chemicals and compatible products.
 "This is a good move both for Phil and for Gray Communications. Phil is knowledgeable and experienced in operating the warehouses and will do an excellent job of serving the customers of the business. This sale also allows Gray to focus on its mainstream media operations," according to John T. Williams, president/CEO of Gray.
 "Becoming a business owner has always been a goal of mine. Now, comes the challenge of taking this opportunity and making it successful," said Greene. "Each warehouse has a solid customer base, as well as excellent employees who are committed to providing quality service to these customers. I expect this level of service to continue and improve in the future."
 Gray Communications Systems, Inc. is a holding company located in Albany which operates three VHF, NBC-affiliated television stations -- WALB-TV located in Albany, WJHG-TV in Panama City, Fla., and KTVE in Monroe, La.; a daily newspaper, The Albany Herald, in Albany, and a fixed-base operation at the Albany airport.
