GRAPHIC INDUSTRIES EARNINGS MORE THAN DOUBLE FOR THIRD QUARTER

 ATLANTA, Nov. 18 ~PRNewswire~ -- Graphic Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: GRPH), a leading full-service printing and graphic communications company, today reported sharply higher earnings for the third quarter and first nine months of this fiscal year.
 For the three months ended Oct. 31, sales were $79,580,000 compared to $80,131,000 last year. Net income increased to $1,078,000 or $.11 per share of common stock fully diluted compared with net income of $439,000 or $.05 per share for the third quarter last year.
 For the nine months, sales were $234,497,000 compared with $235,239,000 last year. Net income for the nine months this year advanced to $2,507,000 or $.26 per share of common stock fully diluted compared with net income of $861,000 or $.09 per share for the corresponding 1991 period.
 "We are encouraged by the continuing uptrend in earnings," said Mark C. Pope III, chairman and chief executive officer of Graphic. "While we are seeing some improvement in market conditions, credit in large measure belongs to the dedicated people of our operating companies who have continued to improve efficiencies at all levels."
