GRANTS PASS AND NORTH BEND SIZZLERS TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY

GRANTS PASS, Ore., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Murray Gast, spokesman for The Sizzler, this morning announced that Sizzler restaurants in Grants Pass and North Bend will remain closed until the source of an E. coli outbreak is determined.
Five people from the Grants Pass area and two from North Bend who ate at local Sizzler restaurants have been diagnosed with Escherichia coli 0157:H7 infections.
According to Gast, "Although both restaurants have been declared safe by health department officials, we decided to close the restaurants as an additional safety measure until the source of the problem is determined." Sizzler has been cooperating fully with officials and brought in its own team of microbiologists over the weekend.
"We're sorry this happened," said Gast, "and we'll do whatever it takes to fix the problem."
