 GRANT, OPTIMA MERGE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS
 TO FORM NEW ORANGE COUNTY-BASED FIRM
 NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Two well-known Orange County property management firms today announced they have merged operations to form Optima Asset Management Services Inc., one of the largest independent locally based property and asset management firms.
 Grant Real Estate Management and Optima Asset Management have combined operations under the Optima moniker, presidents of the two firms announced.
 Optima Asset Management Services will have under contract more than 2 million square feet of retail, office, industrial and residential properties throughout Southern California and Arizona. Some of its institutional clients include Massachusetts Mutual, Canada Life Assurance, Allstate Life Insurance, Pacific First Bank, Royal Trust Bank of Switzerland, Empire Federal and Almar Ltd.
 Douglas C. Morehead, president of Optima, will retain that title and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the newly combined entity. Taylor Grant, a principal in Grant Real Estate Management, will serve as chief executive officer.
 After combining both Grant and Optima management staffs, the new company will employ a total of 16 people. It will maintain corporate offices at 3300 Irvine Ave. in Newport Beach.
