 GRANDMET ANNOUNCES BOARD APPOINTMENT AND SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES
 NEW YORK, June 8 /PRNewswire / -- Sir Allen Sheppard, chairman and group chief executive, Grand Metropolitan PLC today announced two key management changes effective July 15, 1992, and a new appointment to the Board of Grand Metropolitan.
 George Bull, currently chairman and chief executive of International Distillers and Vintners, the group's Drinks Sector, will become chairman and chief executive of GrandMet's Food Sector. George Bull has been a director of GrandMet since 1985 and of IDV since 1973. He became IDV's chief executive in 1984.
 John McGrath, currently managing director and chief operating officer of IDV will become its chief executive and immediately becomes a director of Grand Metropolitan. John McGrath joined GrandMet in 1985, becoming joint managing director of IDV in 1988 and subsequently managing director and chief operating officer.
 Both George Bull, 55, and John McGrath, 53, will report to Ian Martin, group managing director and chief operating officer, who remains responsible to Sir Allen Sheppard for all operations worldwide. David Tagg, in his capacity as chairman and chief executive, Property and UK Retailing, also continues to report to Ian Martin. Ian Martin will become chairman of IDV and will remain directly responsible for GrandMet's International Retailing, which comprises Burger King and Pearle.
