GRAND RAPIDS PHYSICIAN LINKS CIGARETTE SMOKING TO IMPOTENCE
DETROIT, July 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan men may now think twice before puffing on another cigarette after hearing the "Best of Health" messages of Paul Farr, M.D., which state that cigarette smoking could affect their sex life.
Although it's common knowledge that cigarette smoking can lead to cancer, ulcers, heart and liver disease, it has also been found that smoking cigarettes can cause impotence in men, Dr. Farr says.
Dr. Farr, a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) participating physician and former president of the Kent County Medical Society, joined BCBSM in communicating health messages to advise Michigan residents of the dangers of smoking.
In his "Best of Health" radio and TV spots, Dr. Farr emphasizes that smoking affects practically every part of the body. He also makes recommendations about ways in which people can stop smoking. Dr. Farr encourages people not to feel defeated if they do not succeed in their first attempt to quit smoking.
Dr. Farr's messages, which are airing now on more than 200 radio and TV stations statewide, are being paid for by BCBSM and a significant contribution from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
