GRAND CASINOS GRANTS $48,500; INDIAN AND NON-INDIAN GROUPS RECEIVE FUNDS

 MINNEAPOLIS, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Grand Casinos, Inc., (NASDAQ: GRND), the Minneapolis-based gaming management concern, today announced the recipients of the Grand Awards program. Total grants for the first two quarters of 1993 were $48,500. The awards were announced by Marvin Hanson, vice president of associate and tribal relations for Grand Casinos. In making the announcement, Hanson noted that both Indian and non-Indian groups were included..."Grand Casinos has always been about our two cultures working and living in harmony and to the mutual good of all. Our Grand Awards demonstrate this commitment." Stan Taube, executive vice president of Grand Casinos stated, "Grand Casinos is thrilled to be able to make this sizable contribution to these worthwhile organizations within the state of Minnesota. It is always a joy to be able to give to our local community."
 The Grand Award Program is a Grand Casinos, Inc. innovation which earmarks $100,000 annually to human service, educational and cultural activities. All grants are restricted to non-profit, tax-exempt organizations or tribes in the Grand Casinos' business area. "The Grand Program is about people in need, regardless of their race. We, at Grand Casinos, recognize the great need that exists for the many worthwhile programs and causes, however, the Grand Program and the casino industry in general cannot be the financial ends to all those in need. Grand Casinos simply wishes to play a role in assisting those most in need," said Hanson.

 -- American Indian Opportunities Industrialization Centers $5,000
 -- American Indian Veterans Center Inc. $500
 -- Center School, Inc. to Help Disadvantaged Indian Youth $2,500


-- H.E.A.R.T., Inc. for Native Americans Dealing with Addiction $1,000
 -- Institute for Essential Learning for a Student Center $5,000
 -- Little Earth Resident Association $1,000
 -- Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center $5,000
 -- Augsburg College to Support Minority Scholarships $1,000
 -- Case Foley Sackett/Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless $1,000
 -- Child's Play Theatre Company to Support Outreach Programs $1,000
 -- Janet Rico Teen Center to Combat Teen Violence $5,000
 -- Minnesota Private College Fund to Provide Financial Aid $1,000
 -- Minnesota Department of Natural Resource's Youth Programs $2,500

 -- HIRED to Assist Disadvantaged in Finding Jobs $500
