GRAND CASINO MILLE LACS TO HOST PGA CHAMPIONSHIP CONTESTANTS' DINNER AND FREE PGA-VIP BLACKJACK TOURNAMENT

 MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Indians, owners of Grand Casinos Mille Lacs and Hinckley, will host the Minnesota PGA Championship Contestants' Dinner, Monday, Aug. 30, 1993, in Grand Casino Mille Lacs' Bingo Area. Following the dinner, a free Blackjack Tournament (no entry fee required) will also be offered to PGA players and hosted by Grand Casino Mille Lacs as part of the casino's sponsorship of the PGA Championship Golf Tournament, which is being held Aug. 29 - 31 at Izatys Golf and Yacht Club, just 12 miles from Grand Casino Mille Lacs, on the shores of Mille Lacs Lake. Included in the PGA field of players will be defending champion Bill Israelson, George Shortridge, Jon Chaffee and host pro Steve Whitlock of Izatys. Last year, even par won on the tough course, Minnesota's only Dye Designs Championship Course.
 The PGA VIP Blackjack Tournament will begin at 8:15 p.m., and is limited to the first 49 PGA players who register. To register, interested PGA players must call the PGA office at 612-754-0820. Each tournament player will receive $500 worth of non-negotiable tournament chips at the start of each of the two rounds, i.e., qualifying and championship. The top money winner at each table will advance to the championship round after playing 30 hands. Minimum bets will be $5, maximum bets $250. All seven finalists will receive prizes.
