GRAN LASHES 'CRUEL' BOB; 'Geldof cut me out of Tiger's life'.

Byline: FIONA CUMMINS

THE mother of the late rock star Michael Hutchence has launched a stinging attack on Bob Geldof.

Patricia Glassop said he had not let her see her granddaughter Tiger Lily for three years - and that she "barely knows" her.

The girl, now 12, is the daughter of Inxs star Hutchence, found hanged in a Sydney hotel room in 1997, and Geldof's ex-wife Paula Yates, who died from an accidental drug overdose three years later.

But the child lives with the former Boomtown Rats star after he became her legal guardian.

Patricia, who has previously branded Sir Bob "Satan", said: "I don't know what Tiger Lily's favourite colour is, what movies she likes or what fashion she's into.

"I don't know anything, yet she is my grandchild, my son's daughter."

Her husband Ross, Michael's stepfather, died of respiratory failure last month without being able to say goodbye to the little girl.

Patricia added: "Ross was not easily reduced to tears. But when he spoke about the possibility of dying without ever seeing our Tiger Lily again, he would just break down."

The grandmother, who lives in Australia, wrote to Bob several months before her husband's death, asking permission for him to see the youngster one last time.

She said: "I explained Ross was seriously ill, but I never heard back. Now it's too late. How could do any man do that? It's not only hurting us, it's hurting Tiger Lily too."

She added in an interview with Woman's Day magazine: "The situation is cruel and unnecessary. We have been completely cut out of her life by Bob Geldof.

"I'm getting older and I have to resign myself to the possibility I will never see Tiger Lily again. It breaks my heart every day."

Bob was unavailable for comment.
