GRAHAM'S CATS GAFFE.

PROUD Geordie Danny Graham has some explaining to do before he clinches a PS4m move to Sunderland - after admitting he would hate to step foot in the city.

The Swansea striker, a Newcastle fan, is close to sealing a move to the Stadium of Light, having fallen out of favour in south Wales.

But in a programme interview while at Watford, Graham is asked who he would support if Newcastle United ceased to exist. He responded: "Put it this way. I would stay as far away from Sunderland as I could," he said.

"It would probably have to be Gateshead."

Swansea hope to land Kenwyne Jones after seeing an initial PS3m bid rebuffed - and a successful Swans move for the Stoke striker will pave the way for Graham to return to his roots despite a late PS5m bid by Norwich to hijack the move yesterday.
