 GRACE VENTURES PARTNERSHIP III INVESTS IN SOFTWARE COMPANY
 CUPERTINO, Calif., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Grace Ventures Partnership III today announced that it has made an initial investment in ProActive Software Inc., of Mountain View, Calif. This investment is part of a $4 million financing which also includes Mohr Davidow Ventures, Mayfield Venture Partners and Weiss Peck & Greer Ventures. ProActive Software sells customer service software systems.
 Since ProActive Software was founded two years ago, the company has developed a commercial software package that provides companies with a reliable and efficient way to manage all customer-related data across an entire organization.
 According to Steve Goldsworthy, chief executive officer and president of ProActive Software, "The presence of Grace Ventures in the international marketplace offers attractive opportunities as we move to expand our overseas distribution channels."
 Dr. Christian F. Horn, managing partner of Horn Venture Partners, the managing partner of Grace Ventures Partnership III, commented, "ProActive Software markets a system that significantly improves the management of entire customer service organizations and ultimately helps companies ensure satisfied customers."
 Grace Ventures Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of W. R. Grace & Co.
