GOWER ELECTED TO KEYSTONE INTERNATIONAL, INC. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 HOUSTON, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Keystone International, Inc., (NYSE: KII) announced today that Bob G. Gower, president and chief executive officer of Lyondell Petrochemical Company ("Lyondell") was elected to its board of directors at a meeting of Keystone's board in Houston.
 Gower, 54, has been the president of Lyondell, a $5 billion publicly held company based in Houston, since its formation in 1985 and CEO since 1988. Lyondell manufactures and markets a wide variety of petrochemicals.
 Gower received his doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Minnesota and is active in numerous educational and charitable activities in the Houston area. He is a director of the Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Commerce Bank, Chemical Manufacturers Association and the Houston Business Council.
 Gower was elected to assume the position on the board left vacant by the resignation of James H. Elder Jr. Elder, 68, who served as chairman of the board of directors, president and CEO of Anderson, Greenwood & Co. for many years before his retirement in 1987, resigned in order to spend more time with his family and pursue other personal interests.
 Keystone, which is headquartered in Houston, is a worldwide manufacturer of flow control products for diverse industrial and commercial markets. Keystone has 4,100 employees and 29 manufacturing plants in 16 countries.
