 GOWE PRINTING NAMES NEW PRESIDENT
 CLEVELAND, July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Gowe Printing of Medina, Ohio,


a wholly owned subsidiary of Cleveland-based SunMedia Corporation, has named Robert K. Wilcox of Nashville, Tenn. as its new president. He replaces Tom Speck, who resigned in May.
 Wilcox, 45, joins Gowe from Arcata Graphics, where he was a vice president and general manager of Arcata's printing plants in Nashville and Clarksville, Tenn. He supervised more than 1,000 employees with combined annual sales in excess of $100 million.
 "Bob Wilcox has had an extraordinary career in managing major printing companies," said Gerald H. Gordon, president and chief operating officer of SunMedia. "We look forward to his continuing to build Gowe into one of the leading printers in the Midwest."
 Wilcox began his career in 1969 at the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C. In 1981, he left to become executive vice president of Jeffries Banknote, a large financial, commercial, and securities printer in Los Angeles.
 After joining Arcata in 1986 as manager of the company's gravure plant in San Jose, he was promoted in 1989 to vice president of the printing plants in Tennessee.
 Wilcox holds a B.S. from the West Virginia Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from George Washington University. He and his wife, Sheila, have three children.
 Gowe is an industry leader in high-quality insert printing. Gowe's customer base includes Macy's, G Fox, May Company (Cleveland), and other retailers. The company is a major producer of discount catalogs for such well-known office suppliers as Office Depot, Office Max, and Office America. Gowe prints the Sunday television magazine for the Detroit Free Press/e?ws and the Cleveland Plain Dealer. It also prints Crain's Cleveland Business and many other weekly publications.
 SunMedia, which owns Gowe, is privately held. It also publishes the 18 weekly Sun newspapers in Greater Cleveland and 22 weeklies in Milwaukee. The company also publishes shopper newspapers in each market. In addition, SunMedia owns Great Lakes Mailing, a direct mail service company in Medina County.
