 GOVERNOR VOINOVICH TO VISIT USS/KOBE STEEL LORAIN FACILITY
 USS/KOBE Steel announced today that Ohio Gov. George Voinovich will be visiting their Lorain facility on May 18. Robert K. Fravel, the company's president, stated, "We are pleased that Governor Voinovich will be with us to commission our No. 3 blast furnace, dedicate our new technical center and help break ground for our wire rod project." He added, "These three projects total over $180 million of our $500 million modernization."
 The company produces bar and tubular products for use in the automotive and oil and gas industries. "Completion of our blast furnace and technology center along with the groundbreaking of our wire rod project is the first step in achieving our total modernization goal." Fravel added, "The modernization projects, along with the dedication of our workforce, will insure the viability of our facility."
 USS/KOBE is a joint venture formed in 1989 between USS, a division of USX, in Pittsburgh and Kobe Steel in Kobe, Japan.

 Directions to USS/KOBE Steel Company, 1807 East 28th Street, Lorain, Ohio:
 From Cleveland Hopkins Airport:
 -- From airport follow signs for I-480.
 (Brookpark Road West; north on Grayton Road; left turn entry
 onto I-480)
 -- Take I-480 West to Ohio Turnpike (I-80)
 Enter I-80 at Exit 9A
 -- Take I-80 West To Exit 8 (Ohio Route 57; Lorain/Elyria)
 -- Take Route 57 North Towards Lorain
 -- Continue on Route 57 through a 90 degree left turn (East 28th
 Street - at this point Route 57 runs along the USS/KOBE Plant)
 -- Go approximately 4 lights on East 28th Street
 -- Go past the headquarters building which is on the right to the
 next red brick building (1/2 block). Turn into first driveway.
 Parking is available on the west side of the building.
 From I-90:
 -- Get off at Route 57 Exit and follow same directions as above.
