GOV. CHILES PROCLAIMS MAY NATIONAL EGG MONTH IN FLORIDA

TAMPA, Fla., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Gov. Lawton Chiles has signed a proclamation declaring Florida's participation in celebrating May as National Egg Month.
Other states throughout the nation also designate this month as a time to acknowledge the significance of the egg industry's agricultural and economic contributions to each state, as well as the highly nutritional contributions made by the egg itself.
The proclamation also recognizes the versatility, convenience and economy of using eggs in the diet. It stated that eggs are one of Florida's most important commodities.
