GOV. CASEY ANNOUNCES LOAN FOR LANCASTER COMPANY

GOV. CASEY ANNOUNCES LOAN FOR LANCASTER COMPANY
HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Gov. Robert P. Casey today

announced the approval of a $483,500 machinery and equipment loan that will enable Seasholtz Metallurgy of Lancaster to stay open, preserving 11 jobs and creating 11 additional jobs.
The loan was awarded by the Department of Commerce to David Bates for the acquisition of the company's equipment. Bates is president of Eastern Machine Products of Reading.
"Timely intervention has helped avert the closing of a plant that has been a part of Lancaster since 1944," Casey said. "In tough economic times, we are using the state's business assistance programs to help companies like Seasholtz modernize and grow."
Seasholtz specializes in commercial heat treatment processes such as induction hardening, stress relief and annealing. The sale of the company, which had planned to close, will enable it to expand. Total project cost is $1,083,500.
The state's Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund is targeted to industrial and manufacturing firms, agricultural firms, and mining operations. The loans may be used for the acquisition and upgrading of machinery and equipment.
