GOODYEAR SUBSIDIARY SALUTED FOR BUSINESS ACCOMPLISHMENTS

ATLANTA, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Treads, Inc., Goodyear's aircraft tire marketing subsidiary, received the Clayton County, Ga., Chamber of Commerce's "International Business of the Year Award."
Air Treads was selected from a field of 85 other Clayton County and Atlanta-area companies which were candidates for the award.
The award, presented by Georgia Governor Zell Miller to Air Treads' Bill Rathbun at a breakfast meeting today, cites Air Treads' 30-percent increase in its export business from Clayton County from 1992 to 1993 and its "outstanding contribution to the community."
Rathbun, Air Treads' manager of strategic planning, said the award recognizes global accomplishment.
"Tomorrow morning we'll have a little ceremony to present the plaque to our Atlanta associates and, at least in spirit to all the other Air Treads associates who had a hand in this," Rathbun said. "We wish they could be here for coffee and cake, too. They earned a part of this award."
