GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME (10pm BBC2) [...]; WE LOVE COMEDY.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME (10pm BBC2) THE 50th birthday celebrations for BBC2 roll on as another classic comedy series is brought back for an airing.

Sanjeev Bhaskar (pictured), Kulvinder Ghir, Meera Syal and Nina Wadia reunite for a new, one-off special of their groundbreaking sketch show, last on screens in 2001.

They're joined by "token white" actor Dave Lamb (best known for providing the cheeky commentary on Come Dine With Me).

All the old favourites are present and correct. There is the father who believes everything came from India including Sherlock: "He's not just a detective he's a consultant. Indian. He lives above a shop. Indian. He has a doctor for a best friend. Indian!" Plus there are the amusing competitive grannies each trying to outdo each other with tales of their sensitive grandsons.

It's all good fun and their merciless mickey taking of Asian stereotypes is as sharp as ever.
