ALEX GOODE was left seeing stars but Chris Ashton landed the knock-out blows for Saracens as they went through to the last four in Europe.
Ulster full-back Jared Payne was sent off after just four minutes for taking Goode out in the air, knocking out his opposite number.
Ashton scored twice as Sarries set up a Heineken Cup semi against Clermont at Twickenham on April 26. But they did it the hard way.
DOUBLE JOY: Ashton Owen Farrell missed four kicks out of five but the Londoners dug in and are England's only surviving team in the tournament. Sarries' points came courtesy of two tries from Ashton, a score by Mouritz Botha and Farrell's conversion.
Ulster replied with three Ruan Pienaar penalties and a further two from Paddy Jackson.
In the other quarter-final Munster ran in six tries as they mauled French giants Toulouse 47-23.
