GOOD riddance to money-grabbing Stephen [...].

Byline: Kevin Maguire

GOOD riddance to money-grabbing Stephen "cab for hire" Byers, Geoff Hoon and Patricia Hewitt.

Parliament's well shot of Douglas Hogg and his moat, Peter Viggers' duck island and I'd love to run Anthony Steen up his flagpole.

Yet the 150 MPs retiring include good politicians I'll miss - Ian McCartney, Fraser Kemp, Chris Mullin, Alan Simpson, Peter Kilfoyle and Clare Short.

I've mixed feelings about that Tory Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Ann Widdecombe. Her independence was admired but what I'll most miss is her refusal to look me in the eye.

She took offence when I asked why, since she constantly bangs on about marriage, she never wed.

Now I'll probably never know the answer.
