GOOD NEWS FOR FIRM.

A SOUTH Shields travel agent has won a top national award.

Family-owned independent travel agent Westoe Travel scooped the award for Most Innovative Agency at the Travel Weekly Awards held in Manchester.

It completed a great year for the firm which earlier landed Retailer of the Year at the South Tyneside Enterprise Partnership awards.

The family-owned business has operated in Westoe Road, South Shields, for more than 19 years, being established within Bretts Newsagents.

Three years ago the travel business moved into separate premises a few doors away, and last year they sold the newsagents to concentrate on the expanding travel agents.

Director Joan Brett said: "We are delighted to have received these awards, especially as we were nominated by customers."
