GOOD NEWS AT MAMMOTH MAY MEAN A BREAK IN DROUGHT

MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif., Nov. 23 ~PRNewswire~ -- After six years of drought in California, at last there is some indication of respite, at least in the Mammoth Lakes area of the Eastern High Sierra. Arctic storms swept through the Sierra Nevada earlier this month, dumping up to five feet of snow on Mammoth Mountain, resulting in the earliest opening of the top of the mountain in more than 20 years. This natural base along with good snow-making conditions have meant that Mammoth Mountain's ski conditions have been excellent for so early in the season.
