GOOD GIG FOR GORDON.

Byline: i.taylor@dailyrecord.co.uk GARRY OWEN

DON COSSACK is set to go back into training next month and I sincerely hope he has made a full recovery from injury.

Gordon Elliott won't mess about though and if he's not happy with how the nine-yearold takes to being back in work, it will be pipe and slippers time for the Gold Cup hero.

At the moment, Elliott reports the recuperation to be going fine with Don Cossack undergoing regular road work.

The Gigginstown Stud horse suffered a tendon injury ahead of the Punchestown Gold Cup in April and Elliott said: "I saw him last Sunday week and the legs felt good. We're under no illusions. He's been a wonderful horse, so we'll do the best thing for him."

Elliott is looking forward to welcoming around 20 new horses to his yard following the the Mullins/Gigginstown split.

Among the horses set to join Elliott are Gold Cup third Don Poli and exciting filly Apple's Jade, who was runner-up in last season's Triumph before bolting up at Aintree and Punchestown.

?Connections of Persuasive have yet to decide whether she will run again this season after electing to bypass tomorrow's Sun Chariot Stakes at HQ.

Unbeaten in her first five starts, John Gosden's filly was last seen beating all bar Alice Springs on her Group One debut in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.

A potential rematch with Aidan O'Brien's charge looked to be on the cards on the Rowley Mile, but Persuasive was not declared due to fast ground.

Coral: 11-8 Alice Springs, 3 Volta, 4 Ervedya, 14 Always Smile, Smart Call, 16 bar.

?Quest For More heads the British challenge for Group One honours in the Prix Du Cadran at Chantilly tomorrow.

Roger Charlton's six-year-old won the Lonsdale Cup at York in August and was just touched off by Sheikhzayedroad after trying to make all in the Doncaster Cup two weeks ago.

Coral: 5-6 Vazirabad, 4 Quest For More, 6 Nearly Caught, 16 Burmese, 20 bar.
