GOOD'S FURNITURE AND HUFFMAN KOOS TO JOIN FORCES

LANCASTER, Pa. /PRNewswire/ -- Richard Good, president and chief executive officer of Good's Furniture, today has announced that Good's has entered into an agreement with Huffman Koos to be acquired by and merged into Huffman Koos. Huffman Koos is a subsidiary of Breuner's Home Furnishings Corp. (BHFC), which also owns Arnold's in San Diego and Breuner's in Northern California and Nevada. Good's is a major retailer of furniture and accessories and operates 16 stores in the Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey area. Huffman Koos is a major retailer of furniture and accessories and operates 14 stores throughout the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut metropolitan region.

Good stated that he is excited about joining with Huffman Koos and looks forward to being able to enjoy all of the benefits that the combined companies will be able to offer. He stated that the merger will result in increased purchasing power for both companies, which will enhance their ability to market their products. It will also result in better utilization of fixed assets, which will lower operating costs and provide the consumer with more value, better selection and competitive pricing, thereby enhancing overall customer service.

Michael Solomon, chairman of BHFC, stated that he is extremely pleased to be able to team with Richard Good and his management group and believes the combined strength of the new enterprise will be beneficial to everyone. He also stated that he is impressed with the Good's management team, which is expected to remain after the transaction, with Richard Good continuing in his current role, reporting to Fred Berk, president of Huffman Koos and BHFC.

Solomon stated that, "This acquisition is consistent with our strategy of acquiring the best franchise and trade name in each new market we enter. Good's certainly fits this profile and moves us forward in reaching the goal of $750 million to $1 billion in annual volume over the next three years." With this acquisition, Breuner's Home Furnishings Corp. will have reached combined sales volume of approximately $300 million.

After the merger, which is subject to certain conditions and is expected to occur over the nest 60-90 days, BHFC will operate a total of 42 stores in the eastern and western United States and will be one of the largest retailers of moderate to high end quality furniture in the country.
