GOLDWELL N.A., COSMETICS SUBSIDIARY OF KAO CORPORATION, NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND MARKETING

 ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Kenneth E. Wattman, president of Goldwell's North America entity, Goldwell Cosmetics (USA), Inc., announced the appointment of Philip Hester as vice president of sales and marketing for Goldwell North America. Hester will report directly to Wattman.
 Wattman commented, "Mr. Hester comes to us with significant experience from such major companies as Revlon, Redken, Avon and Tressa. I believe Mr. Hester's strengths will supplement those of our present organization and help accelerate our growth. His addition to Goldwell will help build an effective sales and marketing team and help guide us forward."
 Prior to joining Goldwell, Hester served as a vice president for Tressa, Inc., a privately owned, corporate planning and development company based in Cincinnati. Hester also served as vice president and general manager for the Redken Styling Research Company in Canoga Park, Calif., and division sales manager at Avon Products, Inc., in Morton Grove, Ill. He also brings with him significant experience from many years with the RCA Consumer Electronics Division.
 Hester graduated from Indiana University and holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in business administration. He also has more than 30 credit hours from Indiana University Law School.
 Goldwell, The Andrew Jergens Company, High Point Chemical Corporation and Kao Infosystems Company constitute Kao Corporation of America, whose parent, Kao Corporation, is a Tokyo-based $6.6 billion publicly traded company. Kao's principal products are in the consumer household realm, and include personal care products, laundry and cleaning products, diapers and other hygiene products. The company also manufactures chemical and data storage products.
