GOING ABRAUD; Corrie hairdresser moves to Greece with her gigolo.
CORRIE'S Audrey Roberts is doing a Shirley Valentine.
In a plot that could see her quit Weatherfield for good, the salon owner and her gigolo lover head for a Greek isle and decide to move "lock, stock and barrel".
Audrey, played by Sue Nicholls, and Lewis Archer (Nigel Havers) then put in an offer for a hotel and are thrilled as it is accepted.
Back home in Coronation Street, Audrey shocks everyone in the ITV1 soap with their plan and her decision to sell her salon. Hairdressers Maria and Natasha (Samia Smith and Rachel Leskovac) want to buy after Audrey snubs a plea from grandson David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) for him to take over as manager and send her a cut of the profits.
Audrey declares: "I don't want any ties. I'm selling up completely and going to live on Alonissos with Lewis and that's that."
Sue, 66, has told pals she has loved starring with Havers and a Corrie source commented: "It's a breath of fresh air for her."
Bosses refuse to reveal what the future holds but a show spokeswoman said: "With her daughter Gail facing life in jail, it can't be denied Audrey would want to bid farewell to the Street."
