GODIVA'S BIG NIGHT.

BASIL Heatley, who won a marathon silver medal at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, was the guest of honour when over 100 past and present memebers of Coventry Godiva Harriers attended the club's annual presentation dinner at Hearsall Golf Club.

Chairman Keith Richards welcomed guests including club president David Moorcroft OBE, Roger Medwell, the former chairman of NP Aerospace, Vince Clisham, of the Coventry Runner and sponsor of club road races, GB Under-20 international Rowena Cole and Laura Langowski, a member of the women's World Championship 4x400 relay team at the 2012 World Indoor Championships.

Julie Beckford, Dave Dix, Kay Adcocks and Chris Horne were all made life members of the club in honour of their many years of service.

Handing over the awards, Heatley encouraged the younger members to draw inspiration from the forthcoming London Games and to use them as motivation for the many years of preparation, training, and competition required if athletic potential is to be fulfilled.
