GO-VIDEO'S PALM-MATE(TM) RECEIVES BUSINESSWEEK'S ANNUAL DESIGN AWARD FOR CONSUMER PRODUCTS

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- GO-VIDEO Inc.'s (AMEX: VCR) newest accessory product, Palm-Mate(TM), has been honored by BusinessWeek in the publication's 1993 Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) competition.
The new universal remote control product that fits comfortably in the palm of the hand and controls TV, VCR and cable box functions with only five buttons received a Gold Award in the Consumer Products Category and is showcased in a full-page feature story in the June 7 issue of the McGraw-Hill publication recognized by many business executives as the nation's leading business magazine.
Designed for GO-VIDEO by Doug Patton of Irvine, Calif., Palm-Mate received rave reviews from Lou Lenzi, manager of industrial design at Thomson Consumer Electronics, who judged the consumer electronics products category.
"What a joy to hold," Lenzi said, "This touchy-feely approach to technology is a welcome departure from the intimidating, hard-edged, technolook' of most electronic products."
 R. Terren Dunlap, chairman and chief executive officer of GO- VIDEO, a leading U.S. video technology company and patent holder of America's only Dual-Deck VCR(TM), said the award "is indicative of our company's overall commitment to new technology. The response to Palm-Mate(TM) has been most dramatic, with close to 10,000 units being sold in the first 45 days the product was on the market. Sales last month (May) exceeded projections by almost 300 percent."
Recently featured on the Regis and Kathie Lee television show throughout North America, the Palm-Mate rests comfortably in the palm of the hand, with a depression on top for the user's thumb. Once there, according to BusinessWeek, "the thumb knows instinctively what to do: Rock the button forward and back, left or right, to control volume and channel. If you're using a VCR, the button directs play, stop, fast-forward and reverse ... Consumers love it."
GO-VIDEO Inc. is the designer, patent-holder and marketer of the only Dual-Deck VCR sold in the United States and the only videocassette recorder that easily can copy any VHS video tape. The GO-VIDEO Dual-Deck VCR is sold through prominent retail outlets nationwide and is featured in numerous popular catalogs. A leader in VCR technology, GO-VIDEO, through continuous research, is adding innovative features, developing creative companion products and expanding its product line to serve the needs of a broader range of retail consumers.
