GO! THEATRE: It's a Cleopatra double bill.

Byline: MARION MCMULLEN

THERE'S a Cleo double bill currently attracting a lot of attention in Stratford.

Acting star Sinead Cusack is playing the sexy Queen of the Nile in Antony and Cleopatra at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and recently came face to face with her namesake.

A special Cleopatra statuette has been donated to the RSC by the Shakespeare Society of Southern Africa.

The statuette is the work of South African sculptress Ayanda Miji and is currently on display at the town's Swan Theatre.

The work is the first piece of non-western art to be accepted into the collection, which boasts a large archive of more than 2,000 Shakespeare items.
