GMAC USED-VEHICLE SMARTLEASE AND SMARTBUY PRODUCTS

 DETROIT, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) recently developed and introduced SmartLease and SmartBuy products for used GM cars and trucks up to three model years old.
 "These new GMAC products enable GM dealers to offer retail customers lower monthly payments and shorter terms for used late-model GM cars and trucks, while increasing GM divisional brand loyalty and overall customer satisfaction," said F. Joseph McPartlin, vice president of Retail Leasing and Special Financing.
 "General Motors dealers have some great used GM vehicles to offer the auto-buying public," said McPartlin. "GMAC's new financial vehicles -- developed with input from GM dealers -- are the latest examples of GMAC's ongoing competitive focus to become more customer-responsive and market-driven."
 With Used-Vehicle SmartLease by GMAC, car and truck customers pay for the difference between the selling price of the used General Motors vehicle and its estimated value at the end of the lease. This difference represents the amount that the vehicle is expected to depreciate during the lease. Used-Vehicle SmartLease's benefits for used GM vehicles include: shorter terms; lower monthly payments; no resale risks or trade-in hassles and a guaranteed purchase price at the end of the contract.
 Used-Vehicle SmartBuy is designed for customers who prefer to own their GM vehicle and also want benefits typically associated with leasing. Used-Vehicle SmartBuy, offered in most states, has a regular payment schedule with a larger final payment. The final payment, which is determined at the time of purchase, approximates the estimated value of the vehicle at the end of the contract. Used-Vehicle SmartBuy customers have several options at the end of the contract, including returning the vehicle to the dealer.
