GMAC REORGANIZATION ANNOUNCEMENT

 DETROIT, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) announced today the reorganization of sales and marketing activities within the company's North American Operations.
 "Throughout our North American network of branch offices, we're working to get closer to our dealers and customers," said GMAC President John R. Rines. "Today's realignments will enable us to respond more quickly to market conditions and be more competitive."
 The company's sales and leasing activities, which were part of the Marketing Staff, are now part of GMAC's North American Operations. These departments oversee the implementation and promotion of existing GMAC finance plans and programs.
 Heading these two activities are:
 -- David H. Borchelt has been promoted to director of the sales
 Department. He was formerly assistant manager, Sales.
 -- George T. Reganis has been promoted to director of the new
 SmartLease and SmartBuy Department. Previously, he was assistant
 director, SmartLease and Special Financing.
 In an additional change in North American Operations, Joseph D. Taylor Jr. has been named vice president of the Operations Support and Systems Department. This new department is responsible for branch support activities and customer relations. Mr. Taylor had been vice president, Staff Administration. Messrs. Taylor, Borchelt and Reganis will report to Mr. John E. Gibson, group vice president of North American Operations.
 GMAC's Marketing Staff receives new strategic and business planning responsibilities and is renamed the Marketing and Development Staff. Dealer and employee training programs will also be part of the new staff. This new structure will have an increased emphasis on customer satisfaction and ties together the company's product development, competitive analysis and employee/dealer training efforts. Carol J. Knorr, vice president of Marketing, will head up the new Marketing and Development Staff. Reporting to Ms. Knorr are the following executives:
 -- David L. Jones has been promoted to vice president of Plans.
 Mr. Jones will assume responsibility for retail rates and plans
 administration, and commercial financing. He had been assistant
 manager, Plans.
 -- Arthur E. Hall has been promoted to director of the Strategic and
 Business Planning Department, which was formerly part of the
 Finance Group activities. He will be responsible for performing
 competitive analysis and market assessments. Mr. Hall had been
 director, International Operations. He succeeds Susan G.
 Hauseman, who has been appointed to the new position of assistant
 treasurer within the Finance Group. As assistant treasurer, she
 will share responsibility for the company's management
 information reporting, financial forecasting, and other
 analytical activities. Ms. Hauseman had been director, Strategic
 and Business Planning.
 -- F. Joseph McPartlin has been named vice president of the new
 Retail Leasing and Special Financing Department. He will
 continue to be responsible for analysis and development of GMAC's
 retail lease and non-conventional finance plans. Mr. McPartlin
 had been vice president, SmartLease and Special Financing.
 -- R. Keith Crutcher has been appointed vice president of the
 Education and Training Department, a new activity which directs
 all of GMAC's employee and dealer training efforts. He
 previously was vice president, Sales.
 Department heads reporting to Mr. Crutcher are:
 -- Gerald J. Chihak has been appointed director of Employee
 Development. Formerly, he was assistant manager, Staff
 Administration. Mr. Chihak will be responsible for operations
 and human resource management training.
 -- Michael P. Zewalk has been promoted to director of Dealer
 Development with responsibility for finance and insurance
 management training, in-dealership lease training and sales
 training. Previously, he was assistant manager, Sales.
