GMAC REDEEMS 8 PERCENT DEBENTURES DUE JAN. 15, 2002

 DETROIT, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) announced today that it will exercise its option to redeem on Nov. 1, 1993, all of its outstanding 8 percent Debentures due to mature Jan. 15, 2002. The Debentures will be redeemed at 101.6 percent of their principal amount plus accrued interest.
 The Debentures were sold in January 1977 in the principal amount of $250 million, $150 million of which are presently outstanding.
 The Debentures may be presented and surrendered for payment to Morgan Guaranty Trust Company of New York, Corporate Trust Operations Department, Tellers and Mail Unit, 55 Exchange Place, Basement A, New York, NY 10260-0023. Interest on the Debentures will cease to accrue on and after Nov. 1, 1993.
