 GMAC ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE CHANGES
 DETROIT, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors Acceptance


Corporation (GMAC) announced today the following executive changes which are effective Feb. 1, 1992:
 Henry L. Davis, group vice president of marketing, has been appointed vice president of staff administration. He succeeds John J. Musselman who retired Jan. 1, 1992. Davis will report to GMAC President William J. Lovejoy. Department heads who formerly reported to Davis will report directly to Lovejoy.
 Charles A. Krauss Jr., vice president of public affairs and advertising, has been placed on special assignment pending his retirement on April 1, 1992.
 Jack R. Barrett Jr., regional manager in Detroit, has been promoted to director of corporate communications. The public affairs and advertising department has been renamed the corporate communications department to better reflect the department's functions, which include public relations, advertising, employee and dealer communications, meetings and special events, publication and video production, and media relations.
 J. Alexander Martin, control branch manager in Boston, will succeed Barrett as regional manager in Detroit.
 Davis joined GMAC in Baton Rouge, La., in 1966 after receiving a B.S. degree from Louisiana State University. After advancing through various credit and sales positions in Gretna, La., Jackson, Miss., and Tampa, Fla., he was promoted to manager of the South Miami branch in 1976. He joined the staff administration department in the company's headquarters two years later.
 Davis was promoted to control branch manager in West Orange, N.J., in 1981 and was named area manager for the United Kingdom and Scandinavia in 1983. He returned to corporate headquarters as assistant manager of plans in 1985 and was promoted to director of plans in 1987. Davis was elected vice president of plans in 1989. He has been group vice president of marketing, director of GMAC, and a member of the executive committee since January 1990.
 Musselman joined GMAC in Watertown, N.Y., in 1950 following graduation from Hamilton College. He served in various supervisory capacities in Syracuse and Utica, N.Y., and in the company's headquarters. He was promoted to control branch manager in Philadelphia in 1967, transferred to East Orange, N.J., in 1971, and became manager of the New York Region in 1972.
 Musselman was elected vice president of plans in 1975. The following year, he was given responsibility for western U.S. and Canadian operations. He was placed in charge of central U.S. operations in 1980 and eastern U.S. and Canadian operations in 1981. He was named vice president of western U.S. operations in 1984. He has been vice president of staff administration since 1987.
 Krauss attended Queens College and Hofstra University before joining GMAC in Hempstead, N.Y., in 1955. He served in supervisory positions in Hempstead and Patchogue, N.Y., and the company's headquarters. He transferred in 1961 to the Detroit Data Center.
 Krauss returned to New York as a member of the staff administration department in 1963, and three years later, was promoted to manager of the branch training unit. He transferred to the public relations department in 1970 and was named assistant director of public relations in 1974. He was appointed director of government and civic affairs later that year.
 Krauss was appointed director of public relations in 1978. He was elected a vice president in 1984 with responsibility for public affairs, advertising, industry and government relations, and employee and dealer communications.
 Barrett joined GMAC in Parkersburg, W.Va., in 1960 after attending the University of Cincinnati. Barrett served in various supervisory capacities in Parkersburg, Charleston and Wheeling, W.Va., as well as Greentree, Pa., and Miami, before being appointed branch manager in Biloxi, Miss., in 1976. Two years later, he was promoted to assistant control branch manager in Atlanta.
 Barrett transferred to the company's headquarters in 1979 as a member of the staff administration department. He was promoted to control branch manager in Nashville, Tenn., in 1981. He was named regional manager in Denver in 1984, and has been in his present position since April 1990.
 Martin attended Bryant College in Providence, R.I., before joining GMAC in Brockton, Mass., in 1966. He served in Brockton, Providence and Boston in various supervisory capacities before being appointed credit manager in Boston in 1982. Martin was named assistant control branch manager in New York in 1984, and two years later, he was appointed business development manager in the Westchester, N.Y., control branch. He became manager of the Westboro, Mass., control branch in 1987 and has been in his present position since July 1990.
