GM UNDERSCORES ITS COMMITMENT TO HISPANICS
DETROIT, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors (NYSE: GM)

underscored its continuing commitment to providing equal opportunity in all aspects of its business operations by signing a joint declaration with the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) Feb. 21, 1992.
The joint declaration recognizes GM's long-standing support for the Hispanic community and provides the framework for a continuing relationship and commitment to enhance equal opportunities for the Hispanic community.
"General Motors is very proud of its record in providing opportunities for people of Hispanic backgrounds," GM Chairman Robert C. Stempel said as he signed the declaration. "Working together," GM and HACR "can achieve more than we could achieve separately."
The joint declaration "will surely help to grow and develop programs of mutual interest," HACR Chairman Agustin de Goytisolo said.
The joint declaration acknowledges GM's commitment to enhance its policies and programs relating to Hispanics and other minority groups in areas that include purchasing, banking, insurance, advertising and marketing, professional services, employment, philanthropic contributions, and dealer activities.
Through direct communication, GM will continue to inform its suppliers of its commitment to equal opportunity and minority-supplier development, including Hispanic supplier development. HACR will make GM's commitment to equal opportunity and fairness known to the Hispanic community, and will also assist in the identification of potential Hispanic dealers and suppliers of goods and services that meet GM's requirements.
