GM RECALLS 69,000 CARS

 GM RECALLS 69,000 CARS
DETROIT, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors (NYSE: GM) said

today it is conducting two recalls to correct certain safety-related conditions on several different models of passenger cars.
The first recall involves about 30,000 1992 Pontiac Sunbird models equipped with the standard 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. The accelerator control cable on some of these vehicles may have been inadvertently kinked during assembly operations. This may result in a sticking accelerator cable, possible breakage of the cable, or loss of throttle control.
The second recall involves about 39,000 1991 Oldsmobile Calais, Buick Skylark and Pontiac Grand Am models equipped with optional power windows. In these vehicles, moisture may enter the express-down electronic control module inside the driver-side door panel causing involuntary window operation. Under certain circumstances, the module eventually could overheat and fail.
In both cases, owners are being notified by mail and dealers will make all necessary replacements and repairs at no charge to owners.
