GM Provides E85-capable Vehicle to South Carolina.

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture recently announced that commissioner Hugh Weathers has accepted the keys to an E85-capable Chevrolet Avalanche provided by General Motors (GM).

According to the department, the Avalanche was delivered as part of a campaign by the automaker and the Governors' Ethanol Coalition (GEC)

to promote ethanol and E85-capable vehicles in the state.

The South Carolina Energy Office worked with GEC to coordinate the transfer of the vehicle to the department on behalf of the office of South Carolina governor Mark Sanford. The Budget and Control Board's Division of General Services Fleet Management Office will be responsible for the maintenance of the vehicle while on loan to the department.
