GM IS CONDUCTING TWO RECALLS

DETROIT, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors (NYSE: GM) said today it is conducting two recalls to correct specific safety-related conditions on certain passenger car and truck models. Owners are being notified.
The first recall involves approximately 231,000 1989-92-model Chevrolet and GMC compact trucks equipped with 2.5L four-cylinder engines and without air conditioning. These vehicles could experience engine cooling fan blade breakage. GM dealers will install a newly designed cooling fan assembly at no charge to customers. No accidents or injuries have been reported as a result of the condition.
The second recall involves about 165,000 1992-model Chevrolet Berettas and Corsicas to correct faulty service brake stop lamps which may fail to illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed. Dealers will replace the vehicle service brake stop lamp wiring harness connector on each vehicle at no charge to customers. No accident or injury reports have been received.
