 GM ENGINEERS' PROJECT REACH PROGRAM CULMINATES TODAY
 WHAT: Project Reach, an educational outreach program by a
 group of engineers from General Motors' Advanced
 Engineering Staff.
 The group has conducted a special nine-week science
 program at Stuart Elementary in Detroit, teaching
 fifth-graders basic engineering fundamentals to
 interest the youngsters in engineering careers. The
 engineers are all volunteers, who have donated their
 time each Monday afternoon since February.
 The program culminates today with a special school
 assembly at Stuart Elementary, where the students
 will compete by racing model cars that they have
 created during the science classes. Building the
 cars have taught the students about engineering
 principles in physics and aerodynamics.
 WHO; Project Reach volunteers from GM and fifth-grade
 students from Stuart Elementary.
 WHEN: Today, April 28, from 1-3 p.m.
 WHERE: Stuart Elementary School, at 14th and Glendale in
 Detroit. Exit the Davison Freeway just
 west of the Lodge Freeway at 14th. Travel south on
 14th to Glendale.
