 DETROIT, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors Chairman Robert C.


Stempel continued to undergo tests today to determine the illness that caused him to be admitted to George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. yesterday afternoon. He was reported to be in good spirits and anxious to return to work.
 Mr. Stempel, 59, was hospitalized after becoming ill at a business meeting in Washington.
 He is expected to remain in the hospital until at least tomorrow.
