GM APPOINTS GOVERNMENT RELATIONS DIRECTORS

 DETROIT, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Appointments of government relations directors for four units of General Motors' (NYSE: GM) North American Operations (NAO) were announced today by James D. Johnston, vice president for Industry-Government Relations.
 Nettie H. Seabrooks is named director of government relations for GM's North American Passenger Car Operations, working with E. Michael Mutchler, vice president and group executive. She has been director of government and civic affairs at GM's former Chevrolet-Pontiac-GM of Canada group.
 William J. Way is appointed director of government relations for the Automotive Components Group and Powertrain Group, working with J.T. Battenberg III, and Richard M. Donnelly, respective vice presidents and group executives. He had been director of government affairs at the former Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac group.
 Ronald L. Beeber is named director of government relations for GM's North American Truck Platforms, working with Clifford J. Vaughan, vice president and group executive. He will also be responsible for coordinating government relations issues for NAO staffs. He has been an operations manager in the Industry-Government Relations staff.
 Seabrooks, Way and Beeber will report to J. Edward Berry, executive director of state government relations in the Industry-Government Relations Staff, and also to William J. O'Neill, NAO director of public affairs. The appointments are effective immediately.
