GLOBAL SPILL MANAGEMENT, INC., ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF LUKE P. LAVALLE JR. TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 PARKER FORD, Pa., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Spill Management, Inc. (NASDAQ: GSMI), announced today that it had elected Luke P. LaValle Jr. to its board of directors. LaValle will also serve on the Compensation Committee of the board of directors.
 LaValle is the president and chief investment officer of American Capital Management, Inc., a New York City-based investment firm, which he founded in 1980. Today, the firm manages funds for individuals and corporations in a combination of high-growth, trusts and pension and profit sharing accounts. Previously, LaValle spent 13 years with the United States Trust Company of New York where he specialized in smaller company investing in the Pension and Institutional Investment Division.
 LaValle was awarded a master's of business administration from the University of Massachusetts in 1964. He is a 1963 alumnus of Boston College, where he received a bachelor of science and remains active as a member of the Boston College Wall Street Council. LaValle is also a 1959 graduate of LaSalle Military Academy in Oakdale, Long Island.
 A native of Long Island, N.Y., LaValle currently maintains residence in Manhattan and Remsenburg, Long Island. His professional and civic affiliations include the American Stock Exchange Club of New York, Financial Analysts Federation, New York Athletic Club (chairman-Junior Fencing Program), New York Society of Security Analysts (senior analyst), Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Club (advisory board), V Band Corporation (director), Westhampton Yacht Squadron, Ltd. (director) and the West Point Society of New York (associate member).
 Global Spill Management, Inc., is a full-service environmental contracting and consulting company serving Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and the Delaware River Basin. The company also manufactures and sells oil spill containment booms, adsorbent booms, skimmers and related equipment and supplies.
