GLOBAL MARKET INFORMATION, INC. REPORTS FOURTH QUARTER AND ANNUAL RESULTS

NEW YORK, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Market Information, Inc. (Nasdaq-NNM: GMKT), today announced results for its fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 1995.

Revenues for the year ended December 31, 1995 were $13,440,000, an increase of $4,558,000, or 51%, over the comparable period in 1994. The increase included approximately $2,100,000 of revenues from the acquisitions of AIQ Systems and All-Quotes. The Company incurred a net loss of $(701,000), or $(.20) per share, for the year ended December 31, 1995, compared to pro forma net income of $481,000 for the year ended December 31, 1994.

Revenues for the three months ended December 31, 1995 were $3,788,000, an increase of $891,000, or 31%, over the comparable period in 1994. The increase included approximately $400,000 of revenues from the acquisitions of AIQ Systems and All-Quotes. The Company incurred a net loss of $(108,000), or $(.03) per share, for the three months ended December 31, 1995, compared to pro forma net income of $81,000 for the three months ended December 31, 1994.

Commenting on the results, Barry Hertz, Chairman and CEO, said, "The primary changes from the profit in prior periods were substantial increases in overhead and sales related costs and increased amortization of goodwill resulting from recent acquisitions. The Company increased advertising and hired additional sales and customer service personnel for its Track/OnLine service."

Mr. Hertz further noted, "The special meeting of stockholders to vote on the merger of Global and Track Data Corporation, among other matters, is to be held on March 19, 1996. If the merger is approved, it is expected to be effective March 31, 1996."

Global electronically provides trading information, news, and third party database services on stocks, bonds, commodities, and other securities through its Dial/Data and Track/OnLine services. The Company's InfoVest service combines an on-line database with software which enables tailored analyses and reports on publicly traded companies. The Company's AIQ Systems division produces expert systems software for individual and professional investors.
