GLOBAL MARINE SELECTED TO OPERATE ARCTIC DRILLING FLEET
HOUSTON, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Marine Inc. (NYSE: GLM)

announced today that it has been selected by Gulf Canada to operate five units of its BeauDril arctic drilling and support vessel fleet. Under a three-year contact, Global Marine will market, maintain and operate the ice-strengthened floating drilling unit Kulluk and four of the world's largest privately owned ice-breakers. The Kulluk and two of the ice- breakers are expected to mobilize from Canada to Alaska in August to begin drilling Arco's Kuvlum prospect.

Winning this contract reflects well on our reputation for quality operations in difficult environments. I feel confident that our experience operating in environmentally sensitive areas, our expertise in drilling from floating vessels, and the success of our own arctic Concrete Island Drilling System (CIDS) are what won this contract."
