 GLENDALE FEDERAL BANK COMMITS $50 MILLION IN
 MORTGAGE LOANS TO LOS ANGELES RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY RIOTS
 GLENDALE, Calif., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Glendale Federal Bank today said that it was committing $50 million in mortgage loans to help homeowners and apartment owners rebuild in damaged areas of Los Angeles.
 Stephen J. Trafton, Glendale Federal's president and chief executive officer, said, "Even in these tense moments when conditions are still unstable, we need to begin looking at ways and means to rebuild and reunite our communities, and we hope this loan commitment contributes to the healing process."
