GIT system technique to be used for survey of forest land: Minister.

KARACHI -- Sindh Minister for Forest Gyan Chand Essrani has said that the record of Forest Land will be maintained through GIT system and for the purpose the forest land will be surveyed in collaboration with Information Technology Department.

This he said while presiding over a meeting of Forest Department Officers, said a statement on Thursday.

He said that forest land would be surveyed on monthly basis. The Chief Conservator would keep the data himself and he expressed the hope that through GIT system the illegal occupation of forest land could be eradicated.

He added that the Divisional Conservators would maintain online survey record which could be accessed through Central Inter Link.

The Minister said that it had become inevitable to use technology to save the precious forest land from illegal occupation, however, documentary record would be made online gradually.

He warned officers that if any complain was received the officer concerned would not only be suspended but the departmental inquiry also be initiated against him.

The Chief Conservator and all Divisional Conservators also attended the meeting.
