GILLES BREGUET APPOINTED MANAGING DIRECTOR OF TYCO'S OPERATIONS IN EUROPE AND THE MIDDLE EAST

 EXETER, N.H., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Tyco Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: TYC) announced today that Gilles Breguet has been appointed president of its European and Middle Eastern units.
 Breguet's responsibilities will be the operation of the company's fire protection and detection businesses consisting of such well known companies as Ansul, Grinnell, Mather & Platt, Total Walther and Wormald. He also will direct Tyco's European and Middle East Flow Control units, which include the Hindle Cockburn, Charles Winn and Neotecha valve businesses and Grinnell Sales and Distribution.
 He joins the company after spending twelve years with ABB Asea Brown Boveri, most recently as presidnet of ABB France, S.A.
 Breguet received a M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from vthe Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich, Switzerland and also holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
 Tyco is a worldwide manufacturer of fire protection systems, flow control products, electrical and electronic components and packaging materials.
