GIK 18th convocation in June 3.

SWABI -- Eighteenth convocation of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology is scheduled to be held on June 3, said Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Pro-Rector (academic) presiding over the convocation committee meeting on Friday.

He said that it has been decided by management of the Institute that the convocation would be held on Tuesday. The preparations for the convocation have been underway and the final touch to all the arrangements would be given very soon.

Degrees would be conferred on the successful BS, MS and PhD candidates in the convocation, he said, adding that gold medals would be awarded to the students who got outstanding position.

"We have constituted various committees and each committee members have been working in their own parameters and the overall preparations are supervised and monitored by the Rector and Pro-Rector of the Institute," he said. "The convocation, open house and career fair and induction of fresh students are the major events of the Institute."

He said that the members of the Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology in Pakistan (SOPREST), Board of Governors, and parents of the successful graduates and officials of various departments, especially education would attend the convocation.
