RY wa Mat RYAN GIGGS could walk away from Manchester United as a player AND coach this summer.

-p The 40-year-old legend - the most decorated player in United history - is thinking of ending Turn to page 50 From back page his stellar playing career despite starting in the last two Champions League games against Bayern Munich and Olympiakos.

And friends close to the iconic Old Trafford star believe he may also sever all contact with the first team this summer by turning his back on a coaching role under new boss David Moyes.

It is believed Giggs thinks the environment at United post-Ferguson is not the right one for him to cut his teeth in coaching.

Close pal Paul Scholes also had a coaching role helping Nicky Butt run the United Under-19s, but has declined an offer to go on the coaching staff permanently.

Giggs is heavily involved in a project with Scholes, Butt and Neville brothers Gary and Phil who have bought local nonleague side Salford City.
