GIFT FAIR'S HANDMADE DIVISION CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY.
The Handmade anniversary celebration will be held Saturday, Aug. 13 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. in Special Events Hall D of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Following the party, badge holders will have access to the Museum of Arts & Design from 7 to 8:30 p.m., in recognition of Handmade's milestone. Admission is free, but guests must re-register. There will be free shuttle service from the Javits Center to the museum.
A "Snapshot of N.Y." retail tour will be offered on Saturday, Aug. 13 at noon. On Sunday, Tony DeMasi, executive director of the National Tabletop & Giftware Association, will present "Trends and Tips for the Holidays." On Sunday, Aug. 14, Kim Perkins of Elysian Fields will present "Motivating and Retaining Employees," while on Monday, Aug. 15, Dick Calio of R.J. Calio Consulting will offer "The Nuts and Bolts of P.O.S." On Tuesday, Aug. 16, Greg Gorman, principal of GMG Design Inc., will offer "Show & Sell."
"What's Hot About Chocolate" will be presented on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday by various chocolate book authors, who will offer free signed copies of their chocolate books.
