GIBSON INJURY KNOCK.
DARRON GIBSON has suffered yet another injury setback that could scupper a Championship move next month.
The Ireland midfielder shipped the knock during the first-half of Manchester United's 4-0 reserve win over bitter rivals Liverpool on Thursday night.
Red Devils boss Alex Ferguson said: "Darron got a knock and we took him off as a precaution."
Gibson is United's forgotten man this season and his lack of games may cost him his place in Giovanni Trapattoni's Euro 2012 squad.
With Paul Green back to fitness, Trapattoni may chose to pick him instead as he started the first four of Ireland's European qualifiers.
Gibson needs to find firstteam football to force his way back into Trapattoni's plans and Burnley, Bristol City and Green's Derby County all in line for a January swoop.
The Derry man clashed with Trapattoni in the past when the Italian suggested he should quit Old Trafford for the sake of his career.
Gibson always dug his heels in but could now be forced to concede that his international boss was right and drop down a division to get his faltering career back on track.
Meanwhile, Hull City are busy trying to convince Alex Ferguson to extend Robbie Brady's loan deal.
The rising Ireland star has been a revelation at the Championship club this season but is due back at Old Trafford later this month.
Brady has made 18 appearances for the Tigers and caretaker boss Nicky Barmby has vowed to pull out all the stops to keep him for longer.
He said: "Robbie really enjoys it here but it's out of our hands as he's on loan."
